There is a large dog that lives about four houses back that hangs out in his yard in the evenings. His yard is elevated, by 24 inches of stone wall, but it is not fenced, and his yard is shaped like a giant hill. He sits at the top of the hill, and when he barks and charges the side of the yard, only to stop about a foot away, and a foot and a half ABOVE the Cotons, my kids don't particularly enjoy that.

Little Dog has come a long way in reactivity, and now rarely barks at other dogs, but she hates this block, and hyperventilates all the way down.

We're just practising.

Real Kirby

...Would like to get closer, but he just -physically- can't.

No fun Kirby pictures lately... He hurt an ankle somehow, doing some sort of Kirby something. Little bugger is too strong and tough for his own good, and doesn't even limp when he's walking or running. I only noticed because he seemed to pull back on it like it stung him for 0.2 seconds while he was chasing his spider ball, and I can feel tension in the wrist when I went to test out his entire limb. Tsk.

Shadow Kirby

Just as attentive as the real thing... with less to brush ;)

This picture is actually taken moving forward is a loose heel walking down the street. The other leads I am holding are attached to the girls who are walking behind us.

Veggie Dog

Every year, I start out 12-18 seedling cups in my house to prep for a small backyard summer garden. About two and a half months ago, I put out my seedlings, which were very large, as a cold spring forced them to stay in for a few extra weeks. The day after I put them out, I found that they had all been eaten. Everything. All of my baby plants, stems, buds, leaves, everything. Somebody with legs tall enough to get in the tall planter (which is about waist high) consumed the entire garden.

After recovering from the shock, I convinced myself to purchase replacement seedlings. I hate not growing my own veggies from seed, but it was already late in the planting season, so I had no other choice. These have grown slowly. The coldest June of my life, along with an iffy July pushed the growth of everything way back, even my strawberries, which are usually abundant by May. :(

Well, after waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting, I finally have some growth.

And don't worry, I have encased EVERYTHING in chicken wire.
